Behind the couch, up against one wall, stood a huge fish tank filled with all kinds of exotic saltwater fish—four-stripe damsels, dragon goby, angel fish, clown fish and half a dozen others she didn’t recognize. Except for a handful of hardy survivors, they were all dead. The fish floated near the top of the aquarium, the water having long turned a sickly shade of green.
