The smell of the rain did little to mask the pervasive scent of the graveyard – a peculiar mixture of freshly-tilled dirt, rotting flowers, and mown grass. The odor brought back memories of Tanner’s funeral, and of Sarah’s eight years earlier, which in turn conjured up cemetery scenes from some of the old monster movies he and Tanner had watched together.
