The creature slowly licked the girl’s feet, a raspy gurgle escaping its mouth. Jenny McGee mumbled something in her sleep, turning over before pulling her feet back under the covers. Undaunted, the beast gently peeled back the blanket, exposing the sleeping girl beneath. The teenager, dressed in pink cotton pajamas, hugged her pillow tightly against her body as goose pimples prickled to life on her legs.
