I rarely use my fan page to promote something other than my novels, but in this case I’ll gladly make an exception. Bourgeois Tagg is one of my all-time favorite bands, (in fact, I listened to a lot of their music while writing Small Things!) and lead singer Brent Bourgeois has just put out his first solo album in 20 years! The release date of the album, titled Don’t Look Back, is June 2nd, but you can buy it early through the link below or by

They walked hand-in-hand the two miles back to Rose’s little apartment on 15th Street, an off-duty cop and his waitress-slash-nurse girlfriend out for an evening stroll. Her hand still tingled where he had touched her. It was just a role, devised to alleviate as much suspicion as possible, but his was the first hand she’d held like that in years, and knowing it was all pretend didn’t make that giddy feeling in her stomach go away.
