Posters from Hope’s favorite cartoons adorned the walls, and a huge, intricate Victorian dollhouse that both of Hope’s great-grandfathers and Katy’s father had worked together to build filled nearly a quarter of her bedroom and stretched halfway to the ceiling. Though Hope certainly didn’t have a normal childhood by any stretch of the imagination, she was very much loved and adored by all the adults in her life. Katy had to believe that was enough for now.
